The 6-speed automatic with Adaptive Grade Logic is smooth and intelligent, holding gears on inclines and using engine braking on descents. Where the MU-X truly shines is off-road. The Terrain Command 4x4 system with shift-on-the-fly (up to 100 km/h) and low-range gearing makes it virtually unstoppable. The ladder frame chassis, penta-link rear suspension, and 230 mm ground clearance laugh at terrain that would strand soft-roaders.
